Baguio City if a highly urbanized city located in the province of Benguet in Norther Luzon Island of the Philippines. Baguio was established by the Americans as a Hill Station in 1900 at the site of a Ibaloi village known as Kafagway. It was the United States' only hill station in Asia.
1. Manila - Capital of the Philippines
Asia's only former Spanish Colony, Manila, consist of 16 Cities and one municipality filled with well-preserved colonial and Spanish-Filipino architecture, world class museum, cosmopolitan cuisine and high-end shopping.
Intramuros is in the old walled city founded by the Spanish in 1571. Fort Santiago, explore the restored barracks and bastions and visit San Agustin Church, which boasts an elaborate high renaissance facade and opulent interior with trompe l'oeil ceiling. Casa Manila is a striking reproduction of a 3-story spanish colonial mansion filled with priceless antiques.
Manila's museums are as diverse as the the city itself. The National Museum of the Philippines is packed with wonderful pre-Hispanic artifacts. 3. Tagaytay City - Second Summer Capital
City of Tagaytay is a component city in the province of Cavite, in the Philippines. It is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations because of its outstanding scenery and cooler climate because of its high altitude. Tagaytay overlooks Taal Lake in Batangas and provides one of the iconic views of the Philippines, the view of Taal Volcano Island in the middle of the lake, viewable from several vantage points in the city. It provide an easy escape for the locals from the heat of the big city.
Tagaytay is considered to be 2nd Summer Capital of the Philippines with the first being Baguio due to its cool climate. It is also a popular destination for tourists seeking panoramic view of Taal Volcano and the sorrounding lake. Among the most visited sites in Tagaytay are Picnic Grove, this is a large park that has picnic tables and Huts for people to enjoy the beautiful overlooking Taal Lake. Picnic Grove has its cable cars, horseback riding and eco-trail boardwalk. Palace in the Sky, the unfinished mansion of former President Ferdinand Marcos was converted and renamed People's Park in the Sky, situated at the highest point of tagaytay, with the best views in the city of Taal Lake and Volcano. One Destination, this is the area where the main nightlife of the city can be found. The area has some trendy bars and restaurants. The Flower Farm situated upon a sloping hill has five hectares of beautiful flowers including roses, carnations, anthuriums and gerberas.
